Getting Started

Welcome to my blog! My name is Samuel King, and I am a junior at the University of South Alabama majoring in strategic communications. I am originally from Pascagoula, Mississippi. After attending Berea College for a year, as well as Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for a year, I transferred to South Alabama. As of right now I am involved as a pledge in the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and my interests include: sports, photography, exercise, and family.

For this blog, I will be posting about my reflections and experiences on the material that I am studying. For the personal part of my blog I will be posting some of my photography. This blog will also be teaching myself and my peers about the basics of creating a website/blog. It allows us to change and customize themes, add headers and backgrounds, create widgets and add-ons, and many other customization tools(https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/, https://en.support.wordpress.com/five-step-blog-setup/). Personally, I do read some blogs, mostly related to sports and entertainment. These blogs allow me to see other individual’s observations and opinions on things that interest me. As I stated earlier, I am a strategic communications major. Blogging is a large part of this field of study. Companies use blogs as a part of public relations and promotion for certain products. Blogging can also influence consumers in their opinion of a certain company or product. Some organizations may even use blogs as a form of press release because in today’s society social media and the internet are such a major factor in most people’s lives. Knowing this, I know that this blog will not only help me learn now, but it will also help me in my future career.
